From Shanghai to Seoul: kicking off the New Year in style

Hélène Grimaud is launching herself into 2013 with an epic five-country tour of Asia which commences on 5th January in Shanghai – a mammoth performance of both Brahms’ Piano Concertos with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and conductor Zhang Jiemin. From Shanghai to Beijing for a recital and then on to Singapore, Tokyo, Ashikaga City and Iwaki for more Brahms performances. Then it’s a quick hop back to China for further recitals in Hong Kong and Macau before setting off for Seoul and finally ending in Kuala Lumpur for Hélène’s debut with the Malaysian Symphony Orchestra performing Brahms’ 2nd piano concerto.

Piecing together this extraordinary schedule has taken years of planning and for sure it will be a voyage of discovery.
