My fascination with wolves began in my early twenties when I first encountered Alawa, a beautiful wolf-dog hybrid that had been rescued by my neighbor in Tallahassee, Florida.
Alawa was shy and skeptical of humans, yet we were drawn to each other. I knew immediately that I needed to change the world for these animals, an instinct that led to the creation of the Wolf Conservation Center. Every day, I’m inspired by our bold vision to create a world where wolves thrive.
Over the years, I had the opportunity to visit Alawa regularly. Whenever our eyes met, my love for her and these incredible endangered species grew. It is a personal connection with wolves that builds a bridge of concern, something I hope to share with visitors to the Center and our ever-expanding global community of eight million strong.
In honor of the 25th year of the Center’s founding, I invite you to join me as I perform on July 2nd at Musical Appetizers, an evening of exquisite food, cocktails, and classical music.
