“I grew up with German Romanticism, with German fairy tales and the German philosophers” admits Hélène Grimaud. Her love of Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms is self-evidence of this fact and her performances of both composers’ works – in concerto, solo and chamber music – widely traverses the catalogue.
This autumn Hélène makes her debut performing Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto together with the Gürzenich Orchestra and Markus Stenz at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw on 31 August and with a further performance at the Cologne Philharmonie on 2 September. She returns to the concerto for performances with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Stockholm on 21 and 22 September and with the Vienna Philharmonic and Andris Nelsons on tour in November with performances in Munich (22), Paris (23) and Vienna (25).
