Returning to Dallas with Schumann

Grimaud and Dallas Symphony

Hélène returns to Dallas next week (April 1-3) to join conductor Fabio Luisi and The Dallas Symphony Orchestra for three performances of Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Op 54. The dramatic concerto, composed at the urging of Schumann’s wife and virtuoso pianist Clara, explores the breadth and depth of love through a beautiful interaction of piano and orchestra. The Badisches Tagblatt wrote: “(Grimaud plays) the thunderous chords with fury, as many musicians can do. But few can match this French pianist when it comes to those glassy chords, that sound so beautiful yet fragile, and those pristine sparkling runs taken at an insane tempo”.
