Pianist 133 is officially out on 21 July but is now available for pre-order

We are thrilled to announce that French pianist Hélène Grimaud will grace the next Pianist cover!

The 53-year-old has been a mainstay at the top in the piano world for many years, proven by her numerous accolades including Cannes Classical Recording of the Year, Choc du Monde de la musique, Diapason d’or, Grand Prix du disque, Record Academy Prize (Tokyo), Midem Classic Award and the Echo Klassik Award.

Her recordings have mainly focused on the music of the Renaissance, and have included recordings of Chopin, Rachmaninov, Bartók, Beethoven, Liszt, Fauré, Janáček, Nitin Sawhney and many more.

For the upcoming issue of Pianist, Grimaud spent an exhilarating hour in the company of writer Peter Quantrill discussing her new release of Schumann and Brahms.

The issue is out on 21 July but is now available for pre-order here.

From the downbeat of the stormy, rhythmically a-blur “Äusserst bewegt,” this is a Kreisleriana that holds nothing back.
