After Dallas, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, Hélène Grimaud is continuing her 2014 US tour with a visit to California for a 5-date series of concerts, performing Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 with San Francisco Symphony (5, 6 & 7 February) and Santa Barbara Symphony (15 & 16 February).
Hélène last performed with the San Francisco Symphony in January 2011, and she will be joined on this long-awaited return by rising French conductor Lionel Bringuier, who is making his San Francisco Symphony debut.
The Santa Barbara concerts are conducted by Music & Artistic Director Nir Kabaretti.
Cincinnati.com commented on her recent performance of Brahms’ first Piano Concerto: “Grimaud’s technical prowess is undisputed, but now there is a new artistry to her playing.”
