Brahms in Boston

brahms_boston.jpg

“To perform his 1st concert, is to be directly absorbed into the drama of the young Brahms’ life; the 2nd Concerto offers a journey of intimate introspection.”

On 8th November, Boston Symphony Orchestra Music Director, Andris Nelsons, opens a two-week Brahms mini-festival traversing all four of the composer’s symphonies and his two piano concertos. Next week Hélène travels to Boston, joining Andris and the orchestra to perform Brahms’ Piano Concerto in D minor on 8th, 10th, 11th, 12th November, followed by performances of Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 on 15th, 17th, 18th and 19th November. Hélène and Andris recorded both Concertos with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and Wiener Philharmoniker on Deutsche Grammophon in 2013.
